The Marino mobile application and its associated digital services (the "Application") are licensed to You ("End-User") by the operators of the Marino Project (hereinafter: "Licensor"), accessible via https://marino.co.tz/, for use only under the terms of this License Agreement.
By downloading the Application from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or any alternative regional package distribution registry, and installing any subsequent updates, You indicate that You agree to be bound by all the terms and conditions of this License Agreement.
The parties acknowledge that Apple and Google are not parties to this License Agreement and bear no responsibility for the Application’s content, maintenance, support, or warranties.
Marino is a digital ride-sharing, transport aggregation, and logistics platform designed for mobile devices. Its primary function is connecting riders with vetted drivers to facilitate point-to-point transit services efficiently.
This Application is engineered to comply directly with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Processing of transit arrangements is strictly subject to the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) Act, 2019 and the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (Private Hire Services) Regulations, 2020. If your use of this software requires compliance with industry-specific laws outside of Tanzania, or if you intend to bypass verified automated electronic ticketing rules, you are prohibited from using this Application.
You are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Application on any compatible Android or iOS device that You own or control. Family Sharing or corporate multi-device enterprise distribution profiles are permitted provided they remain under your direct financial oversight.
You may not share, rent, lease, sub-license, or redistribute the underlying application binaries. In strict compliance with the Cybercrimes Act, 2015, you are prohibited from:
Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the core software.
Attempting to bypass the security layers or localized application programming interfaces (APIs).
Creating derivative software clients based on the Marino framework without express prior written consent from the Licensor.
The Application integrates directly with regional transport management infrastructure. Any intentional injection of spoofed GPS data, simulated routing, or automated fare tampering will result in immediate termination of account access and potential escalation to relevant authorities.
The Licensor continuously updates the software to maintain compatibility with modern operating system updates and hardware versions. It remains your responsibility to verify that your mobile device meets the basic technical prerequisites, including functional GPS and active SIM-based network connectivity.
In compliance with operational standards managed by LATRA, the Application natively incorporates:
Secure customer registration via One-Time Password (OTP) verification.
Real-time transparent driver profiles displaying the driver's legal name, photo, and verified vehicle registration details.
Transparent digital receipt generation outlining the precise starting point, ending point, absolute time elapsed, and calculated fare.
The Licensor holds sole responsibility for provisioning application updates, bug resolutions, and system uptime. Users can access direct technical support, log complaints, or request account help via the official channel at https://marino.co.tz/ or by emailing the support desk listed on the official app store entry.
The Licensor processes your personal information, device telemetry, and spatial routing coordinates in absolute accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 (PDPA), under the oversight of the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Tanzania.
Under the PDPA, your core data rights include:
The Right to Access: You may request to view your full personal profile, transaction history, and ride logs at any time.
The Right to Object: You have the absolute right to object to or halt the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.
The Right to Erasure: You may request the permanent deletion of your account files and associated historical telemetry from our active servers.
Data is collected exclusively for legitimate transit coordination, safety auditing, and transaction validation. No sensitive personal data or location streams will be cross-border transferred unless the target jurisdiction guarantees an equivalent or superior level of data protection as mandated under Section 31 of the PDPA.
The Application may feature communication channels, including in-app driver-rider messaging, review fields, and customer feedback boards. When generating text or media content, you warrant that your material complies with the Electronic and Postal Communications Act (EPOCA) Online Content Regulations:
Legality: Content must not feature defamatory, fraudulent, or explicitly hazardous materials.
Respect: Harassment, targeted intimidation, or offensive profiling based on origin, gender, or physical ability will cause immediate account suspension.
Prohibitions: You may not use the built-in communication systems to distribute unsolicited commercial links, promotional spam, or independent transaction pitches outside the payment system framework.
By submitting feedback, ratings, or support text into the public sections of the platform, you grant Marino an unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual right to utilize the technical feedback to optimize platform performance, generate aggregated marketplace analytics, and address operational friction points without financial compensation.
The Licensor provides an interactive platform matching independent providers with end consumers. Except in instances of documented gross negligence or direct intentional misconduct, the Licensor’s financial liability is constrained to foreseeable, platform-typical damages. This clause does not abrogate statutory rights explicitly guaranteed to consumers under Tanzanian common law.
All platform commissions, baseline minimum fares, and per-kilometer metrics align with current gazetted notices issued by LATRA (including allowed platform commissions capped up to 25 percent and standard booking fees up to 3 percent). Marino will never enforce dynamic tariffs that conflict with baseline caps established by the regulatory authority.
The Application is delivered free of known malicious payloads, spyware, or structural tracking vulnerabilities at the time of download.
No technical warranty is extended if the Application fails to execute due to:
Unofficial hardware modifications, such as custom operating system roots or unverified ROM installations.
Regional telecommunications outages, network tower dropouts, or localized electricity grid failures.
Strict device incompatibility issues.
In adherence to regulatory frameworks, the Application ensures that users are not charged a standard trip fare if a cancellation occurs before the trip has officially commenced or prior to the driver arriving at the designated pick-up node.
By accepting these terms, you formally represent and warrant that you are legally permitted to enter binding contracts within the jurisdiction of the United Republic of Tanzania and that your account is not tied to any prohibited financial entities or restricted party registries managed by international or local statutory enforcement.
For direct legal notifications, general inquiries, operational complaints, or warranty claims regarding the platform, please route all formal communications to the Marino Project Support Team via our primary digital portal at https://marino.co.tz/. The primary coverage area for these services is the United Republic of Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar).
This agreement remains active until explicitly terminated by either You or the Licensor. Your access privileges will automatically close without formal notification if you commit a material breach of these terms—including fare evasion, driver harassment, or platform data manipulation. Upon termination, you must remove the software binaries from your personal mobile hardware.
This End User License Agreement is governed completely by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Any structural disputes, contract arguments, or regulatory claims arising from your interaction with the platform that cannot be solved via friendly mutual consultation shall be submitted to the competent civil courts of Tanzania, or escalated to specialized regulatory tribunals managed by LATRA or the PDPC where sector-specific statutes dictate.
